Bodycam footage of DCSO deputy involved shooting the other day

So something I noticed in the video, as others probably noticed as well, at how many vehicles drove by. Some slowed down, but not one stopped. At this point, in my mind this LEO was in control of the situation, but didn't know what was in this guys hand.

Would you stop, or do you think a civilian would cause more harm than good? As a LEO, would you trust a person that obviously supports them?

I probably would try to stay out of their way, but more because it looks like they had it in hand and I'd not be much help (don't currently CC). If it was a wrestling match, I might try to assist, but a standoff, probably not.

However, if I saw an officer in the road with a gun pointed, I'd probably stop behind the line of fire (but not with officer between the guy and me, so I wasn't in a potential line of fire).

Glad the Deputy is ok and that DCSO has body cameras. This one could have easily turned into another media twisted story without the video evidence.

I'm betting they have dash cam footage as well. Even without any video I'm thinking that the AR being present would backup the officer's story.

More than likely but I bet they would have started turning the Race card or possibly pulling the "this is why people shouldn't have ARs" bit. Just glad it turned out the way it did for the Deputy.

The bad guy gets out of the vehicle with an AR (or similar) and attempts to hit the officer with butt of the rifle.
