I bet he did. I can't see in the body cam, but $10 says his hand was already on the pistol when he came around the corner for him to have reacted that fast.

Good job on this deputy's part. He pulled that gun pretty quick. Glad to hear he's alright. I spoke with a DCSO deputy the other day to let him know I was glad his fellow deputy was okay. Who tries to buttstroke someone and then says "I didn't did anything"? ... consequences

I'm wondering what this idiots endgame was? Rifle was unloaded and from the picture I can't figure out how he was going to use it? Looks like a cartoon drawn by someone in a country that doesn't allow guns.

Maybe he thought this was how to open carry?

Sheesh. That was a great example of a fast scenario.

    Glad the deputy is ok.

That's what it looked like to me. The unfortunate thing about a body cam like that is that it doesn't see events as quickly as the eyes on the officer's head.

He was trying to surrender the evil baby-killing machine to the nice man from the government. The evil black rifle acted on its own.

Stupid MFer is lucky he didn't catch another round while failing to comply to the deputy's verbal commands. Excellent restraint by an obviously adrenaline-charged deputy under high stress. They need to put this guy away for awhile and confiscate that vehicle. Kudos to DCSO personnel.

Damn. Perfect example of how quickly things can turn bad. The deputy did a fine job of getting his gun on target and getting a hit under extremely difficult circumstances.

Wow. I seem to never stop getting shocked at people's stupidity and the sacrifices our men/women in uniform make every day for me.

So something I noticed in the video, as others probably noticed as well, at how many vehicles drove by. Some slowed down, but not one stopped. At this point, in my mind this LEO was in control of the situation, but didn't know what was in this guys hand.

Would you stop, or do you think a civilian would cause more harm than good? As a LEO, would you trust a person that obviously supports them?

Until the still shot of the video was posted, I had no idea what had happened. I'm not sure if the LEO was stabbed, shot/shot at, or seen something I had not. If I came across an officer on the ground, I would stop.

Seemed to be an amazing shot by the deputy as he was falling.
    Thank God he's okay.
