    Default Relaxing...what do you do?

When you find that life has piled one more thing on your plate than you can deal with, what do you do to forget about it for awhile?

I wanted to go shoot, and even that wasn't relaxing because I was surrounded by people I was watching making sure I wasn't about to catch a round because they were flagging the fuck out of everyone.

    I don't drink, I don't smoke, I'm apparently not that much fun...

...and it's a snowy fucking mess in the mountains and I don't have a death wish.

So what do you guys do?

I'll put some headphones on and just disconnect for 30-60 minutes. Just relax and let my mind take me somewhere to decompress.

Otherwise, if time/weather allows, its shooting, going for a nice drive, etc. The common denominator is anything that lets me not think about daily life and only on the task at hand.

If may sound stupid, but when stuff piles up on me, I sit down and make a tangible plan to unburying myself. Then I start with the small tasks that are easy to tackle. Staying with small stuff let's you feel some immediate success, and can go a long way toward giving myself some breathing room. Also I go on YouTube, or listen to Pandora and pay bills or plan finances. I get relief from crafting a plan. Sorry if that miss the mark since we don't know what kind of things are piling up for you.

Typically, this is my approach. I grew up living in adapt, improvise, overcome. But today, was one of those storms where everything hit at once, and even the little stuff wasn't. but yeah. Today was the day I almost set it all down and walked away.

Default I get way out in the boonies...

I drive west 50 miles. I go metal detecting alone. Someplace nice and quiet. It doesn't matter if I don't find anything really cool. I'm by a river, the scenery is unreal and I always see wildlife. Cell phones don't work here.

When I'm stressed, I pull out my go-to movies: V for Vendetta, Watchmen, and Starship Troopers.

Or I throw on some nice loud punk music and scrub the hell out of things until I feel more calm.
