Default LASIK eye surgery and astigmatism

I've been thinking about getting LASIK eye surgery to correct my vision as well as my mild astigmatism. Wondering if anyone here has had the surgery and what your results were like, especially in regards to correcting astigmatism and using red dot sights after the surgery.

I had it done about 3 years ago. I went to Northern Eye Care Center of the Rockies and I too, had astigmatism. My results came out excellent. 20/20 in one eye and 20/25 in the other. I have no problem using any kind of optics and being able to see clearly when waking up and not looking for my glasses is worth it alone.

I had Lasik with mono-visiobn in 2004 and it helped significant near-sightedness immensely. I didn't have much astigmatism, though. My eye surgeon is a great guy who is also a shooter and understands shooters' vision issues. If you PM me, I can send you his name.

The same doctor did bilateral cataract surgeries on my last year and now my vision is better than ever.

Also interested to hear some results. Every few years I think about getting this done, then I chicken out. I'm too worried about being one of those few who do not have a positive outcome and end up with a lifetime issue (other than having to wear glasses, which I'd still have to use reading ones if all went well).

I had mine done a couple of years ago. I had a bad astigmatism as well. My vision was corrected to 20/15 in both eyes. Haven't really used any red dots since my procedure.

FYI, there's a huge thread here somewhere with lots of good lasik info if you want to search for it.

No astigmatism but I had Lasik in 98...almost 20 years ago. It took about 30 days for my vision to stabilize. Corrected me to 20/20 and 20/15. Still pretty close to that after all these years. Dr told me it may increase the rate at which I'd need reading glasses, though. It did. But that's OK. Distance vision was more important to me than up close stuff.

They corrected my astigmatism I did it 12 years ago. Never used a red dot until a few years ago. My Eotech is a bit less than sharp. Researched and found it can be a issue for some people. Still usable but not my favorite sight. I still highly recommend getting it done. It is the best money I've spent.

Had it done 11 years ago wide bad astigmatism. Had the starburst effect a night when looking at lights for about a year. Corrected to 20/15. Haven't had my eyes checked since, but I can still see distance better than most.

Adjustable red dots are OK. If the dot is too bright, it star bursts a bit. Green dots are much better and I can have them brighter without star burst.

Every once I a while I still that urge to push glasses up my nose...

Overall, best money I have ever spent. Wore glasses from 5 to 30 y.o.
