Default what caliber to replace a shot out 22-250

So I'm sitting here, board out of my mind having to watch the voice with my wife. One of my 2 savage model 12's is shot out, and was wondering what you guys think a good change out would be. Looking at getting a criterion barrel from northland shooter supply. I was thunking a 6mm br or another 250 in a fast twist for 80gr bergers. 6xc came to mind also, but the more I look at it, nah. 6.5x47 would be another one. This gun will be used for punching holes in yotes/poodles, and paper...

The nice thing when running 2x 250's on a dog town is once a barrel gets warm, swap out to the other gun...rinse and repeat till no more targets are moving.
Also, already have a 243, but would entertain another one...

    Here are my choices...
    22 CAL 1-8, 9, 12, & 14 twists (with 1-7 option)
    223 Rem., 223 Wylde, 223 A.I., 22-250, 22-250 A.I., 220 Swift, .223 Rem Match

    6mm 1-8 twist (with 1-7.5, 1-9, 1-10, 1-14 options)
    6 BR Norma, 6 x 47 Lapua, 6 XC, 6mm Dasher, 243 Win., 243 Win. Match, 243 A.I., 243 A.I. Match, 6mm Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor MT
    6.5mm1-7.5 & 1-8 twist

    6.5 x 47 Lapua, 6.5 Grendel, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 X 284 Norma, 6.5 x 55 Swed. Match, 260 Rem., 260 Rem. Match, 260 A.I., 260 A.I. Match, 6.5-06 Match,
6.5 SAUM (large shank only), 6.5 SAUM GAP S4 (large shank only)

You already have the barrel so rechamber to 22-250 A.I. I have one and it shoots like a dream, extremely easy to reload and you can light up a dog town while your fire forming brass. I took 300 rounds of 22-250 out and spent an afternoon fireforming brass while eradicating prairie dogs.

Another option in my safe that is my new favorite is the 6x45. .223 necked up to 6mm. I've used it for prairie dogs and coyotes and this fall she will hopefully take an antelope. Again very easy to load and just run .223 brass through the 6x45 resize die and your done.
It is better to die on your feet then to live on your knees.

    6BR!!!
Slow twist barrel for 85gr P-dog rounds or faster twist for 105gr all around. 6BR has good barrel life, is super accurate, tons of data, easy to load for and Lapua brass. Best 29 grains of powder you ever burned.

Because 4-5 and the barrel gets hot. Not great when the doggies show up in force.

For a dedicated Prairie Dog rifle look at the 20 Vartarg
If your post count is higher than your round count, you are a troll.

MY CZ 527 Varmint barrel takes way more than 4-5 shots before the barrel gets hot enough to affect accuracy.

    .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer

Works best with a 36-40 inch barrel

If you want to stick with a 308 bolt face, get a 6BR and call it good. If you decide you want to be a little different, the 6BRX or 6 Dasher are awesome calibers as well.
