That gigabit fiber is crazy.
Here's the last numbers I pulled. Lol.
My internet currently isn't working. Upgrading today and they appear to have made changes on their end but my new modem hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully it gets here soon so I can fumble my way through the install.
Until then I'll just have to use my 4G. It's way faster than my internet anyways.

They track lots of things; so having a problem with a site [or service]; google first, then I would use this tool.

The sad part is, I met someone this past week that actually believes something along these lines... They are working on implementing Command/Control of drones over cell networks, but thus far that has not become the norm. The idea of using cell networks will change the range of the drones dramatically, so the key targets here are things like the Amazon Drone Delivery service.
As for internet speeds, your router can actually have a significant effect on the speed that is reported. I gained 200Mbps on my fiber when I changed from a high performance Asus router to my UBNT Edgerouter Lite, and my network is more secure. I had to add a stand alone WAP, but that's normal for me with customers, so I had a used one sitting around.
As mentioned, Speed tests are highly subjective. Lots of things play into the numbers reported:
Time of day (Number of users, load shaping, prioritization, QOS, etc all play into it)
How the speed test runs (flash, HTML 5, etc)
Your computer (depends on how the speed test runs, but if the processor is busy elsewhere, it can affect the results)
Wireless vs Wired (If you are truly trying to test your ISP service, being wired straight to your router is the best way to do that)
