    Default pissed at a gunsmith

I have a LMT rifle that has two screws in the upper that hold the barrel in. I had stripped out a screw and took it into a smith to pull the screw and put in a new one. Took the rifle out on Saturday, it shot just fine. When I was cleaning it I noticed I could rotate the barrel by hand, it was super loose. The two screws that were supposed to be torqued down weren't even tightened down at all. I twisted the screws out by hand ffs. I feel like this could have lead to injury. Not sure if I should chew out the smith or just never go back.

I'd bring it to his attention and see where it goes

I would have contacted the smith, before posting. This way IF he/she said too bad, so sad. You then had an answer which you had even more legitimate reason to vent.

I once used a smith to put a suppressor brake on my SCAR because I was low on time and didnt want to deal with it. He didnt take the jam nut off before putting the brake on. Luckily, a friend alerted me and i didnt fire it. Borrow an alignment rod and would have caused a big baffle strike. This was from a "FN" shop too. I havent gone back.

Too bad there are not more detail oriented Smiths that actually take pride in their work

Definitely hard to get quality work done these days.

And to the OP, how funny would it have been if you squeezed off a shot and launched the barrel down range?
