This reddit user was not newsworthy. What was newsworthy was Trump redistributed his animated gif (oh, by the way, its starting to look like CNN discovered the wrong guy on Reddit - how does that make your snark look?). That this Reddit user created it was never "news" but CNN has been driven so utterly insanely unprofessional by their Trump hatred that they thought it was a bright idea to go hunt him down.
This was the same vicious fake journalism that caused the media to hound "Joe the Plumber" for daring to ask a sharp question of Obama.
Its not the first time Kacsynski has led an internet mob after some nobody.
