I'm a small business owner and have had to serve twice, a week each time. Just saying, they don't really care.

Two groups selected and I'm still waiting.
A week would suck ass. Doing that twice ouch.
This is my second time going to jury duty but last time only took a few hours and I was released.

Judges are getting more testy about people trying to creatively get out of jury duty ... that would likely get you off the jury but you'll still be in court with a contempt charge (and then you'll be the one inconveniencing people with jury duty). This is especially the case here in Colorado because the Colorado jury system is actually a pretty good one that works pretty well for jurors.

Just think of it as free dinner theater and enjoy the show. I've served a couple of times and found the whole thing pretty interesting (and it really is much better if you approach it with a positive mindset) Maybe you'll get lucky and you'll get a magazine ban case and you can stick it to the man by acquitting (Jury nullification is your right, no matter what the judge and attorneys tell you).

The only thing interesting other than yoga pants was a judge came in and spoke to us about the 6th amendment very briefly. That was interesting. Then spoke about the time he was called for jury duty. Made a couple jokes and left.

My first time on jury duty we had an old grumpy RETIRED man that kept cussing when asked questions. He did a bunch of other grumpy stuff that I don't have time to explain, but he was a real asshole. The judge warned him if he used "those words" again he would be held in contempt. He was not selected and once he was gone the judge commented that that was the closes he had come to holding a juror in contempt. It was better than dinning theater.
