Default Anyone using a "budget" smart phone they recommend?

    All,

Looking to replace a beat to crap Galaxy S5. I'd like an Android--I need this thing to function as a phone, run google maps, have the internet work, and maybe take a few pics. I read reviews of newer smart phones and one may get a ding for "not playing 3D games well"---well, I don't need that nonsense, but I don't want to buy a turd, either.

I've looked at some articles on C/Net, looked at amazon reviews, and even some consumer advocate websites--there's no shortage of brands I've never heard of. But to me, unless I'm missing something, as long as its running Android, shouldn't I be OK for most non-teenager type usages?

Heck, for instance, a new screen on the S5 is $170. some of these phones are underneath that--if i find one i like and break one, it's nearly disposable as far as I'm concerned. several motorolas seem to be wafting to the top of the heap.

So, if you've got a smart phone that isn't a Galaxy S5, S6 or S8 that you're really liking, let me know.

I just ordered a S6 for $200 from there, I haven't got it yet, just ordered it after breaking my S5.

swappa.com is pretty good for used phones for cheap. It's like ebay but for cell phones. They confirm the IMEI number of the phone and make sure it isn't stolen.

Best bang for your buck in regards to stupid cheap nice phones, probably BLU phones.
