I admit that is possible, but I find it hard to believe that after 2 years of the new law NO ONE has gone back into these places to tell them.
Especially after spending hundreds of $$ then finding out they didn't need to.
I plan on stopping in and talking with them. Just to see what they say. I am not pissed at them, like I said, business is business.
I work at one of these places part time. You come in asking why the light is on we tell you and offer a fix. We are not there to know emissions law, just how to fix the problem you came in for.

Even for these new lift uber inspections, we have a checklist for minimum tread depths, minimum brake thickness and other items. No one memorizes these laws, same with the Colorado winter tire/chain rules. We have a sign from CDOT posted.
