    Kind of a different energy in the air.
    Called my wife on the phone and told her to get on the front porch: she did while we were on the phone and was left speechless...she said she had shivers going down her spine, and felt a wave of energy.

    Anybody else felt that?
    I hadn't thought to comment on it, as I figured it was just me, but yes I know exactly the calm eerie feeling you are talking about, it was certainly different. I also noticed the birds acting weird, as others have said. Maybe there was more to this eclipse than I was giving it credit for.

    For those that weren't in the path of totality (read: 98% 99% etc.) you missed out. When there's a total eclipse for those 1-2min you can take your glasses off and look right at it and it was spectacular. If all I saw was the part right before that through my glasses I'd think "meh" too. The total eclipse was awesome though. One of the coolest things I've ever seen & I'm not even an astronomy nerd. Hell, my wife is the one who convinced me that we should go. Glad I went. Just ate some delicious Mexican food too. Started the morning off with Gering Bakery. Not too shabby.
    Exactly. If I were just at 97% coverage it would have been meh, but as my friend who went with me to the total said, it was the closest he's ever come to a religious experience. Just before (and just after) the total eclipse, the light went almost pure white, then (as you can see in others' pics), during the total the white halo was just friggin' sweet.

    The progression was cool. I'd been sitting in the sun and could feel it. By the time it was maybe 15% covered, the light levels seemed the same but you couldn't feel it on your skin nearly as much. By about 50% there was just a bit of a subtle shift in getting dark. As it got further, you could definitely notice it being darker, but still couldn't obviously look at the sun directly. During the eclipse I was surprised at actually how light it still was. I was expecting total nighttime light, but it was more like late evening, maybe 30min till darkness levels of light (I guess from the corona light still making it through).

    It was really pretty amazing. I and others from my group are strongly considering going to the 2024 eclipse in the East.

    Ugh, some of you sound like the NPR audio diaries. "It was like a reset button!" It was a great astronomical experience but "different energy" and "religious experience"?

    <sigh>

    Another crop circle showed up last week. I have no idea what it means. Seems to depict the eclipse.

    Had the same views outside of Lander, Wyo at my grandpas ranch.

    Left Lander area around noon and had zero issues with traffic delays, yes there was more vehicles but everyone was running 70-80mph on US287 to I80. I80 was as normal as it can be, US5287 from Laramie to FC was pretty normal too. Drive time was about the same as it always is.

    Our group experienced the same. It was like a subtle pressure or magnetism the existed throughout your body. I'm not sure really how to even quantify what I experienced but it was something alright. Weird.

    Or it could just be that if that many people of varying walks of life (many of whom tend not to be the type to talk about feelings or unusual experiences) describe feeling something similar there might just be something to it.

    I didn't get to feel anything like that, sadly. Also, there was almost no wildlife nearby except for bugs. I don't know if they shut up during the eclipse, but afterwards they were persistent as hell going at me until I left.
