Default New Tool For First Responders

I am wondering how well this will work? It is a first responders training aid!

I've read about this and others doing the same or similar type of interactive trainer. I can see many bonus's to such a system. Much easier to arrange a scenario then setting up a realtime training. The biggest hurtle I imagine would be convincing the old timers and non first responder decision makers of the systems value. I can already hear city councilors and commissioners complaining about letting officers play video games on duty. Its always such a struggle to bring new tech to the field, especially when its not front line stuff. Hard enough to maintain training budgets as it is, second comes getting your first responders on board to take new training types seriously. But definitely look cool and I can see this type of training eventually adopted by forward thinking organizations.

These guys are working on similar tech. So far they have been wildfire focused but the tech is capable of so much more. Many fire organizations are already using the product. Someday I'll have my county convinced of its usefullness. Basically, it is an interactive sand table.

I forgot to add that this is supposed to be free from the .gov. I was made aware of this from a DHS email.
