Default How awesome would this be?

As long as no CA "immigrants" are allowed in here....I'm all for it. Far-fetched, I know. But we can dream a little. The bold at the end is mine.

Calexit III? New ballot measure plots another route to California independence

First there was Calexit. Then came Calexit II.

On Thursday, people unhappy with California’s place in the United States filed yet another proposed ballot measure that could lead to the Golden State striking out on its own.

This time, the goal is convening a U.S. constitutional convention to overhaul what proponents call a moldy national blueprint out of step with life in California.

The measure says a reworked Constitution should include a provision creating a “clear and reasonable path for states to achieve complete independence from the United States should any state so choose.” No state has become independent under the existing U.S. Constitution.

“The world has changed dramatically since 1787,” reads the preamble of the California Calls for a Constitutional Convention, or “Cal Con Con.”

Thursday’s measure is the latest attempt at using the ballot box to revamp California’s relationship with the federal government. A “CalExit” proposal set a timeline for votes on independence, which fizzled. A measure filed this spring seeks more autonomy, and possible independence.

The Cal Con Con team includes Marcus Ruiz Evans, who was vice president of Yes California that crafted Calexit I. He resigned this spring when the effort petered out, saying that movement’s leader, Louis J. Marinelli, had become a distraction because of his ties to Russia. (!!!!!)

You can't make this stuff up if you tried. Ignore the cockroaches on both sides. I'm really only posting this to show the absurdity of all of the shit going on today.

All these constutional conventions have the underlying goal of destroying the second amendment. I am not in favor of any changes to the constitution.

Yup, and as I've said before, CA doesn't just get to leave the union, those wanting a calexit can leave the country, then maybe CA would be a great state (politically speaking).

It's not so much where one is from. It's what the want to change once here that's the problem.

And a few other inconvenient rights as well.

Serious question: Isn't the Constitution pretty much nullified by Democrat behavior anyway? It would be nice to say the states did it, or the Fed did it, and lay blame. But it's really Libs in any level of gov who do it and do it consistently.

I was reading Drudge last night and saw people openly wishing Trump would be assassinated. MSNBC host recommending Amendment 25 "solution" because feels, no legitimate process. Michelle Moore exclaiming "he's going to kill us all!!!" to create a case.

These people aren't restrained by any pieces of paper. And the funny thing is, even if they were given a chance to carve out their perfect world they still wouldn't follow their own laws/Constitution because their (stated) values are constantly changing.

There's no way to get rid of them though. They need us and will never willingly let go.

And if they did succeed in seceding and become an independent state/nation/sovereignty/whatever, they would likely beg for, and receive, more financial aid/assistance from the US government than they are currently receiving as a US state.

    Oh, the irony...

    Just my 2 cents.
