The "closest" I've come is having to clear my house a couple of times. We were gone all day and forgot to close the garage door. Came home at 10 pm and the garage was wide open. Had to clear the house, just to be sure.

Second time was we came home and the back sliding door was open. Once again, had to clear the house. The wife just forgot to close it this time around.

Nothing exactly "close" but I was very happy to have my firearm with me when you come home to that.
