I was at the Louisville Cemetery 2 summers ago burying my Uncle who died of Brain cancer and the cemetery is across from the Louisville tech center, and had a bullet zip behind my head and went in to the trunk of a tree(pretty sure it came from the tech center).

Late 2004 (almost 9 years ago). About 18-24" away from getting shot by 7.62x39mm sks.
It was my neighbor who had ND while cleaning his SKS.

I was sitting on the chair seen on 2nd picture.

Default When have you come the closest to shooting someone?

Been shot 2 times bird hunting. 1 pheasant, 1 dove. Not point blank but close enough to draw blood. And almost had my head taken off dove hunting from a hunting partner not paying attention. I ducked as he swung.

Bosnia 92. First time in the bullet proof windshield of the VBL. Got the windshield replaced, and my pants cleaned.

6 years ago, sitting in the drive-thru with my ex up in Englewood. Homeboy comes swaggering up to the counter, holding his crotch, evidently there to see one of the girls working. Makes eye contact with me and does the whole arms-spread-out "you lookin' at me?" pose. I don't have the slightest idea why. Obviously he was threatened into an extreme state by the nerdy white kids buying ice cream sundaes. We just ignored him and continued paying for our meal. As I'm beginning to pull forward, Tupac decides to walk out in front of my Jeep and start for the passenger side, cussing and yapping like a 5 foot terrier. I maintained eye contact, pulled out my para .45, and rested my hand holding it on the steering wheel. He veered off course, acted like he was walking in a different direction all along, and stood by the side of the building until we left.

Of course, my very liberal ex had some admonishment about how situations like that don't happen if you "put enough positive energy out into the universe". There are good reasons why she's an ex. :-)

Back in the day when I was young and full of, well ya'll know. I was an LEO for a railroad back in the east. Details not important. But I was in a SIU and we worked surveilences when trains stopped to do what they do, change crews, or set off a load or two.. SOmetines we would hide in ditches in the projects or sometimes it would be weeds near a bridge. Nonetheless, radio communication sucked and backup was sketchy... Many times my sidearm was shoved into a perps ear, nose, anywhere to get the point across because me and my partner never knew who was out in the darkness and we needed to control the situation. I never had to shoot at anyone.
