J hook is hanging up on someone, even if they're still talking.

I know there must be a new drug dealer in the half way house next door, the 20 min park and leave crowd has increased a lot in the last few days. I live here and pay attention to stuff like this.

I called about the prostitute last Saturday, and got the same horse shit. Asking me shit like "how do you know she's a prostitute?".....wtf? All I'm doing is letting you guys know about the continued problems at this hotel on a non emergent line provided for purposes such as these. They used to give a shit, and I watched several arrests on people I've called them about in the past.

I used to have a District 2 street guy that I could email info and plates to, but he either retired or moved to a different district or something. He would actually ask me to look for specific vehicles that he thought might show up around here, and I did that for him. It was great, and I hope that I can establish that kind of relationship with another officer here.

That's pretty cool. I hope you can establish something like that with another officer.

    Yes, me too.

Yeah it's mostly petty stuff, but it's still crime...and I know this neighborhood would LOVE to get this shit hole shut down. One of the few ways that can make that happen is to keep reporting it.

This is funny because concerned people should be the eyes and ears of the hood. What I took away from this is no one cares. I see it all over the place. And no one wants to do their job. In a city , just south of Denver. I see accidents with no injuries, people standing around waiting for the wrecker. That gets 4 cars with rollers on. No one directing traffic, just chilling. If I were from another planet visiting the US I would assume traffic were as bad a robbing and assaulting based on the amount of resources spent on it. I know side track. I do value people are invested enough it the community to keep an eye out and report crimes. After all isn't that the idea behind Neighborhood watch?

That's what non emergent lines are for, there is no emergency in any of those types of crimes. It is also clear neighborhood degradation if crack and meth dealers, pimps and their hookers and general douchenozzles are operating unchecked.

The prick on the phone last night asked more than once if I needed an officer to respond to my location. No, A-hole....I did not call 911.

But yes, you people need to be aware of this stuff. Drug deals go bad, sex deals go bad, and pissed off competition (read gang rival here) can cause problems as well.

Download the scanner app and listen to DPD. Many nights they are 3, 4, 5 hours slow on response to calls. Usually not very petty stuff either.

Too many calls for service, not enough officers, too much paperwork. System is clogged up. Jails are full, court dockets are packed. Bad situation.

Protect yourself, nobody else will be able to.

Everything you just said, is so true my Friend. I do have a decent scanner but don't listen to it as much as I used to. I've also work in EMS for 31 years now, I hear stuff. And I know the procedural BS that LEO have to go through is insane....I realize this.

I suppose in retrospect, the douche on the line was probably not super experienced and probably inundated with stupid shit at the time, but that's never an excuse for shitty "customer service" in any business or municipality. Then again, how many Happy and Professional civil servants do you find at the DMV? Not apples to apples, but that doesn't take away from the point really.

The upside is that I did get an email back from my former contact in this district. I was surprised, and very appreciative. I sent him back a well worded and respectful response, and I look forward to his reply.

When I see cruisers in my area, I take the time to bring them bottled water and snacks and stuff. I give a sheet about what they do and what the put up with BEFORE all this change in social media, "hands up" crap, and body cams and all this garbage. I'll help a cop any effin day of the week and twice on Sundays.

yeah, that aint working out like planned. Causing more issues really - Tabor amendment causes it to be refunded. We can't have too much $$. I've heard it all explained but am to dumb to explain what I've heard. (state budget)

I'm one of those civil servants.
