Well, at least he now gets to count on the self-serving "communists" in America. Now, without the structure of American greatness propping him up, he will get to learn how utterly pointless that milieu is.
As I understand it, he made it through RIP (or whatever they're calling RIP these days) and was assigned to a Ranger battalion and served overseas with them. He got booted out of Ranger school as an officer. I think he failed too many patrols and was offered a "day 1 restart" (IOW he would have had to start Ranger school all over again) and elected to quit the course instead.

He was "released/removed for standards" from Batt and then went to WP. From there, he went to, and was subsequently booted from, Ranger School.

Since he was allowed to continue in the military, it's likely he was RFSed from Batt for either physical reasons (though I cannot imagine how), or his attitude or something. Since it's an internal mechanism it has no true UCMJ weight behind it.

    Every.damn.penny.

Military experts say it’s rare for an officer out of West Point to receive an other-than-honorable discharge. Greg Rinckey, an attorney specializing in military law, claimed that this opens an opportunity for the military to seek money back from Rapone for the education he received as he didn’t fulfil the five-year service obligation for all the graduates.

Sounds familiar. I wonder if Communism ever wins anything other than fail?

Except I don't think it'll hurt him one bit. My guess is some Dem org (or several) is already working to sign him up as another poster boy with a healthy paycheck to ensure he lives better than an Army Lt. ever dreamed.
