Policies like that can quickly and quietly get reduced or dropped entirely if the right patrons get upset.

The new security measures will include hand-held metal detectors (wands) and bag checks.

While this initiative will apply to select events throughout September 2018, beginning October 1, 2018, patrons entering all events in Boettcher Concert Hall will experience the new security measures.

In furtherance of Denver Arts & Venues ongoing initiative to create a safe and secure environment for all patrons and employees of the Denver Performing Arts Complex, the Colorado Symphony Association is pleased to partner with the Denver Performing Arts Complex on the newly introduced security measures for Boettcher Concert Hall and all venues within the complex.

We encourage you to arrive up to an hour early, prior to the start of your event. This will alleviate congestion in all walk ways and entrances and will allow for proper screening. To review the full policy and prohibited items implemented, please visit artscomplex.com.

We thank you for your understanding as we collectively endeavor to provide a safe and secure environment, allowing you continued enjoyment of the arts. We look forward to seeing you in Boettcher Concert Hall!

Looks like this will be my last performance. If I cannot carry, I don't need to go there... well, other than work.

True dat. Theaters are literal kill boxes.
I'll stop buying black rifles when my wife stops buying black shoes.

So, I had tickets for the ballet and was going to take my youngest daughter. I also received the updated security policy, i called Elli caulking and spoke with security, who reinforced that no ccw was allowed, and even non-uniformed LE would have issue carrying, as well as stating that they didn't have any armed security, so i decided to not go to a soft target/kill box and gave the tickets away. My buddy doesn't carry, but made sure to explain that when he and his wife went, the wanding was minimal, and really could be worked around.
