Oregon CCW?

Headed to Oregon next week. Read the Gunlaw.com rules for carrying a firearm in the truck/car.
Two choices and I would like your input on which one you prefer, please.
With Colorado CCW I'm OK till I get to Oregon.

A - Lock up the firearm in a box, inaccessible to passengers, unloaded.

B - Fully loaded but visible and accessible to driver/passengers.

B makes the most sense to me.

Due to wife's family, I spend quite a bit of time in OR. I'd say the 2 options depend on what part of the state. Legally, you are good either way, but could face some harrasment issues if pulled over in Portland/ Eugene area and following option B. The rest of the state, you should be ok with B. (typically what I end up doing)

Sorry, It's A without a Oregon recognized CCW you follow the same rules for transporting a firearm across state lines. Locked in something secure (Other than glove compartment) with mags separate.

during such transportation the firearm is unloaded, and neither the firearm nor any ammunition being transported is readily accessible or is directly accessible from the passenger compartment of such transporting vehicle: Provided, That in the case of a vehicle without a compartment separate from the driver’s compartment the firearm or ammunition shall be contained in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console.

You open the hole for a lock to accept a combo lock. Then (hypothetically) have the lock set to the last number so it opens real fast.

With that said YOU NEVER allow / consent to a vehicle search ANYWHERE. in the U.S. NEVER. We travel by vehicle, a lot, outside CA & NV guns are on hip or in center console. Loaded & Chambered, until we cross in to CA. Then unloaded, mags in a easy to reach non visible area.

During Interstate road trips, I've always consulted with LE in each state I intend to travel through. I had to move my Mother there a few years ago, and there are some weird little quirks for individual states. Oregon told me I had to open carry, and expect some questions from LE if you do so. Personally, I took the risk to conceal chambered and I also had a paddle retention holster within reach while driving, but you'd be fucked if you got caught concealed hot.

Reciprocity really needs to be updated and accepted by the states that have had something up their ass about it.....I've passed CBI and Federal BGC, fuck yourself.

4 Days and 2,500 miles later... I'm back home and doing good. I followed the laws to the letter. Firearm went into a locked container before crossing into Oregon. On the way back I stopped at the first rest stop and put my friend on my hip again! No encounter with LEOs on the whole trip. I don't speed... especially with a huge 26' boat following me very close behind. The wind was horrible Wednesday, and I slowed down to a crawl. Had a cold for the four days on the road but doing better this morning after some hot coffee! Thanks!
