That's already done been did. Modern examples include the NIV and "The Message" translation (the latter being so egregious in its translation that even Luther, Calvin, and Zwingli would have had a conniption fit).

Were all references to "slavery" or "slave" removed? Even the words "servant", "service", or "servitude" could be triggers.
