Much tougher laws are needed...clearly, that law didn't work.

Well, no ftf background checks are required in Texas, this will be sold as "if the gun show loophole was closed and ftf required a background check this would have never happened"..

Of course they won't mention the warning signs or.the fact that the guy probably would have been in a mental institution pre 1980s..

Because he obtained it through a private party sale that "universal" background checks will fix... come on, you don't know the agenda here?

The Heavy article mentions his wife being from S.Springs and her mother attending that church. I wonder if the murderer had marital issues.

From what I understand wife and children attended the church. Definitely sounds like he blamed the church for his marital issues.

These are interesting pieces of information, but I'm also curious what his DD was regarding.

I think that's only the case if the offense is a felony level offense.

Not correct IF they answered 11g Yes it gets flagged

Instruction for Questions 11.b – 12 (Formerly Questions 11.b – 11.l): Added a new paragraph between the 1st and 2nd “A member of the Armed Forces must answer “yes” to 11.b. or 11.c. if charged with an offense that was either referred to a General Court Martial, or at which the member was convicted. Discharged “under dishonorable conditions” means separation from the Armed Forces resulting from a dishonorable discharge or dismissal adjudged by a General Court-Martial. The term does not include any other discharge or separation from the Armed Forces.”

Dishonorable Discharge is a disqualifier under the Gun Control Act of 1968. There is no distinction between a felony and misdemeanor in a general court martial. Small crimes are usually dealt with non judicially.
