    Default A Glock that fits!

I have tried the 17, 19 and 26 over the years and didn’t like how any of them felt in my hand. Dumped them all. Today I stumbled across a very very lightly used 21SF Gen 3. Checked it out and couldn’t believe how much I liked how it fit. In addition it came with the box, 3 mags (1 has the +2 extension) and Glock night sights. Added the extended slide release and Talon grip wrap. Very stoked, hope to get it out Sunday. Oh it has the factory installed ambi mag release. Not a big deal but interesting. The big plus is it’s in my favorite caliber.

Now I need to find an owb holster that’ll work under a sweatshirt and/or jacket.

Doc, just a heads up, I found some interesting info on the gen 3, 21SF’s with the ambi mag release. I learned that Glock had a lot of trouble with them and they were all 21SF’s. It seems that every once in a while, most of the internal release parts would just fall out the bottom of the magwell when the button was pushed. Glock decided to quietly exchange them for current models. I actually bought a 21SF with ambi mag release for $350 because I already knew Glock would trade it for a new one. Since I had a 21 already I exchanged it for a new 30SF. One thing I learned is when you call Glock tell them it’s a carry gun and you need all the serial numbers on the gun to match, otherwise they may want to give you a new frame and reuse your original slide.

Or, you could just keep it and try it for a while and hope nothing happens. I never even tried firing mine before I traded it back to Glock. Could be a rare issue or could be common. I have heard that once some departments got wind that the problem was occurring, they would not allow any of their officers carry one on duty. The gen 4 ambi mag release is a completely different design. Yes, gen 3, 21SF's are great guns, I love my non ambi 21.

Thanks for that info! I’ll see how it does at the range and go from there. If there are issues I wonder what Glock would do as I bought it used. I’ll add a report after the range visit.

I don't have any first hand experience, but from what I understand, it doesn't matter if you are original owner or not.

Thanks. I’ve spent the last few minutes searching the web for this issue. I really hope it doesn’t have this issue. My mags are loaded and seat properly but the range time will tell I guess. Not going to stress about it, just see what happens. For me there’s enough of difference in the SF frame feel to not want an exchange for a non-sf frame. I wonder if Glock is still swapping as the reports I found were around 5+ years old. Stay tuned.

Just got home from a short session. 200 rounds of Winchester 230gr fmj and 100 rounds of Federal 230gr jhp HST. Not a single issue-I realize in the big picture of things those are not enough to guarantee no issues but mags locked in and dropped free on slide lock without any extra pressure on the mag release (only tried it with my right hand). I was very happy with how it shot and felt in the hand. At this time I'm not going to call Glock, just continue to spend time shooting it, running drills and see how things go. I really like it-and that's saying something coming from me.

This target is the first 13 rounds, double taps fired a t10 yards with the target facing me for 3 seconds, then turning away. The top right flyer was the last round that I rushed the shot on lol. After that I tried a mish mash of drills from 3-15 yards.

Gunner, wish I did but this is my only Glock, I wouldn't mind getting one more mag (that works with this ambi model) but can't help out, very sorry.

Any suggestions on owb holsters from the group is greatly appreciated. Something for carry under a jacket or sweatshirt, straight drop, leather or kydex is fine.
