Default Where to buy a new/refurbished desktop computer

The family desktop is about to take dump so I need a new or refurbished computer. I need to pick one up this weekend hopefully, as the kid has school projects to do. All I need is the tower and would like something with 4gb+ memory and a 1tb hdd. Also needs to have windows already installed.

I'd take a look at Microcenter on Quincy, near 225 and and DTC . Tons of selection. Not as big HD as you want, but cheap. http://www.microcenter.com/product/4...se_Refurbished

MicroCenter is one of the better parts are parts store. Picked up the Pi 0W a few weeks ago, while a real computer if today is 1994. But then that computer on a stick cost about 10 dollars on sale.

If you are running Windows 10, don't use less than 8 gigs of ram...

What I would consider spec wise - something that should work out ok

    second microcenter.

Sometimes you can score a nice deal on a closeout that might just need a little upgrade like memory or a 2nd hard drive (I highly recommend mirrored disks).

I shopped around quite a bit last time I upgraded and ended up getting a nice deal there on their store brand. Added a BluRay burner and a second hard drive and it's been a good machine.

Link posted above seems like a good deal.

The computer recycling places all seem to have ridiculous prices these days. So I too would send you to Microcenter. They do have some manuf refurbished inventory at reasonable prices.

If you didn't need it in such a short timeline, TigerDirect.com has a lot of enterprise-grade refurbs.

I just replaced my desktop so I have one that you can have for free.

It was top of the line about 5 years ago, i7, 16GB, 750TI.

All you need is a drive and windows; I can throw in a 250 or 500GB 2.5 to get you started. Was working great, I just updated to something that could play PUBG.

This Acer is the same one I picked up a little over a year ago for the same price. For whatever reason mine came with a 2Tb hard drive, even though it was advertised with a 1TB. It has been good, no complaints. This is my third Microcenter desk top.

In a recent and similar thread, ......I thought Delfuego was "the man" to go to for refurbed computers and such.
