I joined the Colorado State Shooting Association, it was only $10-20 for a year membership.
CMP search page for affiliated clubs. Use the dropdown menu for "State", select Colorado and hit search. It'll give you a list of all the affiliated clubs in Colorado. Ben Lomond is on the list:

As I recall when I joined this sight it was for CMP program. One of the moderators sent me a certificate. I'll see if I still have it in my files when I get home.

I did Garand Collector's Association. It comes with magazine (I think quarterly) and they automatically submit your info to CMP
At one time (not sure if still able to) all you needed to do was send a copy of your DD214
