Meh, I'm on the side of those who say Die Hard isn't about Christmas itself so isn't a Christmas movie per se. All it takes is a reason for a corporate party that shuts down normal operations and the way the country is going, that's more likely to be Halloween than Christmas in 10-15 years. It's still a great movie to be enjoyed year-round and to remind people that they need to be able to think and act for themselves instead of relying on Uncle Sugar to fix things.
Oh, come on...Christmas is integrated throughout the film. It checks the boxes for what's required to be a Christmas movie. Just because the Scrooge isn't green, doesn't mean it isn't a Christmas movie.
