It is terrible to contemplate how few politicians are hanged. - The Cleveland Press, March 1, 1921, GK Chesterton
While the staff understands the honorable nature of creating a separate forum for the Fallen posts, we're choosing not to go that route at this time.
We've given lengthy consideration to this idea on a few occasions and spoken with Kevin about his thoughts on the matter. While we all recognize that having these sort of posts in General Discussion can cause the threads to quickly slide off the first page and get lost to viewing by our members, we also recognize that General Discussion (GD) gets the highest viewing of any forum on the site. By leaving these threads in GD, we have the best opportunity to ensure a greater number of our members will see them. None of us can think of a better way to honor these fallen servants than that.

I concur....and I figure many of us would.
The life of a fallen public servant honored in GD is just that....honored.
