RIP Officer Copeland. A senseless tragedy.

Service of process is getting to be really damn dangerous.

Serving a warrant always carries a high potential of danger. I did a ride along with Golden PD earlier this year and we were called to go pickup a guy on a felony warrant. I didn't think it would become a pseudo-standoff, but long story short, we stood outside this guys house with guns drawn trying to talk him out for about 25min. That was only the second time in my career I've drawn my weapon.

RIP Officer Copeland. 19 years on the job... So sad for his family and the agency. Looks like they lost a valued veteran officer.
