Default Israeli FAL magazinnes (are they well thought of compared to other surplus)

Ive had these for years and decided to pull my FAL out to shoot a bit (It looked lonely in the safe). Anyway I am debating opening these and cleaning them to use with my FAL they are of Israeli origin. Are Israeli surplus magazines of this sort well thought of compared to other surplus or the US made DSA magazines that would have came with my FAL. I could just as easily leave them as is and just use the ones I have with the rifle but at the same time I want to know if they function with my rifle.

This is a question JerryMrC would be perfect for. He moved to Germany this Spring/Summer and isn't on as much but you may want to shoot him a PM with your wuestion - he's a FAL guru.

From my understanding the Israeli mags are good to go. Pretty much any Israeli surplus is indestructible.

I have only Israeli surplus FAL mags and they've been perfectly reliable for the past ten-twelve years. Mine are a mix of steel and aluminum mags. Never a malfunction.

Doesn’t it really depend on if your FAL is inch or metric?

Yes metric magazines can be used in inch rifles but can be loose. Inch pattern magazines can not be used in a metric rifle.. In this instance I am referring to the fact some magazines can be a "tight" fit or just not work well in specific rifles. My rifle is Metric. I have a DSA STG-58CP Austrian Para FAL

I have never met an Israeli gun related item i didn't like. Seriously. My understanding is FALs are pretty good with most surplus mags. I'd buy some if we were allowed.

All surplus FAL mags are good to go.. DSA mags are junk and they know it and refuse to fix them, don't waste your money.

Your Israelis all wrapped up would probably bring some decent $$ over at FAL Files..

    Love my FALs!!!

I couldn't resist and opened one set of 4, they cleaned up nice the shine on the top of the right one is just camera flash. That being said they are tight in my receiver compared to my other magazines. I have a good mix of unknown surplus and 2 DSA magazines these are by far the tightest fit perhaps they will fit better with use as the park wears off I would have to assume these have been refinished at some point.
