And the benefits afterward should be enough incentive right?

"No, we're not homosexual, but we are willing to learn. Winger: Yeah . . . Would they send us someplace special?" Thanks Bill Murray.

I had never seen Zac Efron before, but I believe he is the eye candy in this movie and not Mr. Jackman. This may be the first Jackman movie I've seen where he doesn't take his shirt off. You may want to warn your wife just to keep her from being disappointed.

I enjoyed the music, the story, and it didn't bother me one bit that there was only a cursory notion of factual information related to PT Barnum's life. Barnum would probably have enjoyed the idea that people were entertained with a fictional account of his life. This movie was sort of American Bollywood without subtitles, with US pop music, and didn't last three hours. It has been a long time since watching a movie actually made me happy.

    SPOILERS.

HEY, DUMMY. DID I MENTION THE SPOILERS???

I enjoyed it for the most part, as a simple piece of popcorn entertainment. I'm not a Star Wars nerd, so my complaint didn't really ruin the movie or franchise for me personally, but it does kind of ruin the whole franchise logically.

The Death Star. The 2nd, rebooted Death Star in TFA, any time they know where Darth Vader/Snoke/Palpatine/Maul is, etc. If you can just light jump a ship through some shit, then turn on autopilot and send a frigate through the target every time. Or one brave soul on a suicide mission, if there's no jump speed autopilot. A price gladly paid. What a dumb time for them to realize they can just jump into the target. That's like constantly being foiled by the bars on a liquor store window when you drive an F350 with an ARB bumper; drive through that MFer and be done with it.

Saw it yesterday, mainly because my brother and brother-in-law wanted to see it.

It seemed to me like the writer/director had 4 or 5 different ideas of what he wanted to do with the movie and couldn't pick so he tried (unsuccessfully) to jam all of them into the movie. Horribly illogical plot sequences, terrible use of Luke, blatant political correctness overrode any sense of storytelling. It made me want to ask if Rian Johnson had actually watched the first 3 movies or just had them described to him by his nanny.

I've never been a Star Wars super fan, but if I was, I'd be really upset.

As it is now, I think I'm just done with Star Wars.

The Rebels never let a woman lead or they would have figured this out 40 years ago! It took Vice Admiral Gender Studies taking command to realize this. And of course her courageous martyrdom.

Like I've said, I went in knowing it was never going to be what we wanted and just tried to have fun. Once the show is over you do think about this stuff. Now that there are pages of spoilers... My biggest beef is Luke. Kidding above but I think the strong male characters were purposefully moved out of the franchise. A trend we're seeing a lot of everywhere. And it means we didn't get the Luke we should have gotten but worse, Rey hasn't been developed into a strong character either because...

    (agree)

It was important to introduce class warfare as a story arc but not a conclusion on Rey's background? And so important to move Luke out of the story that Rey now has no one to train her?

Snoke is another one... An ancient we know nothing about (from this series) and no reconciliation with all the other movies. Has this guy been behind the scenes the whole time?

Yeah, bad storytelling but it's also jeopardized the series and any remaining story telling.

    SPOILERS.SPOILERS.SPOILERS.SPOILERS. and then SPOILERS.

Man, I sure wish the old emporer was still around. This Snookie guy is worthless. Knows Ray is the bees knees with the force and just lets Ray do the remote light saber samurai sword thing. See, the emporer had Vader around to protect him. Wasn't Luke Skywalker smart enough to do the light saber samurai sword thing, just like Ray?

When the movie ended, the first thing I said to the wifester was how dumb the asian maintenance chick was in taking out Fin before he could destroy the "door laser" thing. At that point in the movie, that was the only way they knew to beat the bad guys. Then after she wipes out some stupid speech about "love over war" or some idiotic PC gibberish.

Another dumb thing: princess Leia is dead, really dead. They had at least 2 credible ways to kill her off in the movie - suffocating in space, or having her shuttle get blown up like most of the rest. Instead, she grows a magical force capability she never used to have to mysteriously fly to an airlock while holding her breath forever. I feel more stupid for having watched it.

We finally went to see it today. I loved it. There were some issues, plot-wise, but all in all, it was far better than I was hoping.

Luke will be back as a Force Ghost. He wasn't fully trained as a Jedi, either, in the earlier films.

Yeah, Yolo Ono was pretty awful.

Which reminds me, that scene in the beginning where he sister tries to use The Force to grab the remote control for the bomber was basically lifted wholesale from Mall Rats, which had a running gag of one one the characters trying to use The Force.

In any other movie I would have assumed it was a sly wink and a nod to Kevin Smith fans. In this one, I just assumed it's terrible writing.

And that scene with Yoda was godawful.
