Luke was a Skywalker. What is Rey? Would have a been a great time to tell us! Her parents were junk traders that traded her off for booze?!? Come on. I'm still not sure. But it doesn't seem like this is a story about the Skywalkers anymore.
After the comments Hamil made about what they did to Luke I'm not sure Disney will employ him. Maybe for two minutes as a force ghost.

If you want an even more fun note, look at the directors filmography. A few bizarre short films, and then BAM writer AND director of a Star Wars film.
If the Disney board of directors has a child molestation room somewhere chances are this guy was the waiter...
“Say, guys. About all them kids in room 31 who left the resort walking all funny? Well, I always wanted to direct my very own Star Wars movie...”
That's awesome! Talk about a BS character I'm sure they just threw in to placate the minority PC crowd. Not a very well written, or acted, part.
Interesting theory... it makes perfect sense. Disney is full of pervs anyway, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had some child sex ring or something.

Luke wasn't raising tons of boulders or fighting like a samurai banshee without training either. The script on this was so full of wholes it makes Swiss cheese slices look like a solid steel plate.
I expect to see something about Yoda's ghost training Rey. He may be male (assumed since he's referred to as "Master") but he's green, not white, and always a fan favorite. Someone must have completed Luke's training between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi since Yoda died before Luke returned to Dagobah.
Actually, in the books, Luke gathered together a bunch of other Jedis, but he was the head Jedi and did not train with anyone else. Luke set up the Jedi Academy with the help of some computerized literature and ancient Jedi texts, but he never continued training with a Master. He just WAS a Jedi.
I'm kind of surprised that people seem to be pissed that Rey seemed to be pretty good at stuff, but were apparently okay with Luke being good at stuff with just as little training. The thing is, neither Luke nor Rey were trained in the conventional sense of a Jedi. The whole focus of the movie was that the Force was strong wth them. Luke used it when he was piloting the X-wing to destroy the Death Star. Rey supposedly has a much more powerful connection, but doesn't know how to really use it, or why. Or when, as evidenced by her colossal screw-up in which she ends up being brought right to Snoke. Ooops. Kylo Ren was the only one among them that even had a slighty traditional Jedi training, and that was by Luke. The guy that wasn't fully trained in the first place. The Force is more 'magical' and imbues everything. Didn't Obi-Wan keep saying "Feel the Force, Luke"? So how is that plausible, but not so much with Rey?
If you remember at the very end, the boy with the broom uses the Force without even thinking about it- like he wasn't even aware of it.

Is the Force magical? I was lead to believe it was some sort of biological symbiosis. Has anyone ever checked the midichlorian count for Luke, Leia, Kylo (Ben) Solo, or Rey? And I thought traditional Jedi training involved removing very young (toddlers) from their homes and loved ones to be placed into training academies run by unmarried masters. Sounds a bit too weird for me, but different strokes as the alter boys would say.
George Lucas had a neat idea and made three decent films out of it. The period between the first three movies and the prequels and sequels were all a long run up the ramp to jump the galactic shark. IMO of course.
May the Fourth be with you but save some money for Cinco de Mayo.![]()
My memory is horrible, but I can still quote most of the original STAR WARS movie by heart.Originally Posted by Obi Wan Kenobi
