I just saw a private showing of it. Some recycled content from Return of the Jedi with an Empire Strikes Back twist; the show felt like the same writer as Into Darkness. It wasn't as much of a retread as EpVII, but enough recycled content to be annoying. Maybe after this one, they can actually move the story forward instead of spinning in circles.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

    Hints of it in parts.

I wouldn't count on it the way they are... but they're making a Han Solo origin story next, hopefully that'll be as good as Rogue One.

I thought it was pretty good and don't mind the references to past films showing up. Other than vii planet killer star base, aka a bigger death star.

Well, now I don’t need to go. I was out in a family type restaurant tonight with a wait and a couple of nerds who just left the theater gave the whole movie away.
I tend not to go to the theater anyway and I’m not really super into Star Wars.

I really liked Rogue One, but man I just can't give a shit about the new Episode movies.

1 and 2 sucked, 3 was pretty good, 4, 5 and 6 are overrated, 7 sucked and I just don't care for the characters anymore. Han was always my favorite, and he's dead now, so...

What I hated about Rogue One was that "it's not a 'Star Wars' movie, it's a 'Star Wars Story' ". Because of this they didn't start the movie with the powerful Star Wars opening music or the blast of "Star Wars" hitting the screen...the movie just rolled into the content. I felt cheated.

So, we're eight movies in. Everything is a retread of some other movie or element.

The milking scene? Did I just see pron?

If anyone is taking their younglings... It's a lot of a tense violence/battle scenes (which makes it good!). There is only one scene of graphic violence I'm worried about...

Overall I think they did a good job. Lots of "Disney" going on in some places but my expectations have been lowered over the years. If you go just wanting to have fun and casually see the story move along, it's worth the price of admission.

I was a fan of the first three as a kid. (When I say first three I mean 1977, 1980, and 1983) I didn’t watch the next three but saw brief parts of each when my kid was watching them. They looked horrible. When the force awakens came out I was kind of excited about it because it sort of came after the original three movies which I enjoyed. I was sadly disappointed. It was pretty much a bad rehash of the plot from the original film. Took a chance on Rogue One and really thought it was a good show. I’m hoping this one that just came out isn’t as disappointing as the force awakens.

I watched it last night. I wasn't as disappointed as 7. But I was disappointed. This one has hints of 5&6. JJ Abrams really wants to make 4-6 his way and is doing it. Pretty similar.
