I won’t touch any of the new stuff since Disney’s involved. I got through about 15 mins of the last one and turned it off.

It'll be out on Blue Ray by the end of Feb so I'll wait to see it on my own TV. So far, I have seen them all at the theater and the original Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back were the only two good ones.

I felt that if all the star wars movies were like rogue one than I would be a way bigger star wars fan.

Agreed. Rogue One was an exciting movie. And the space battles were awesome! Something very much lacking in The Force Awakens. In fact, the entirety of the Battle of Scarif was fantastic.

... and that is all I needed to hear. Abrams did the same thing with his Star Trek films. A lot of fans fantasize about doing the same -- the difference is that Abrams isn't even a fan, he's just a well-connected director/producer with an ego. I didn't like the Abramsverse in Star Trek or in Episode 7 so guess I'll pass on Episode 8.

8 was much better than 7 but the story line sucked. He brought up a lot of questions in 7 that were never answered

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't the best SW film, but it was pretty good. I feared it would be a retread of Empire Strikes Back, but it really wasn't. I felt like there was some issues with Luke, I won't spoil it though by discussing. There were a couple of poorly placed plot devices (fuel? When you see it you'll understand). The one issue I saw was the "rich" city, basically saying if you work for Northrop Grumman or Lockeed Martin you're evil (that's the best I can do without including any spoilers). It wasn't enough to ruin the movie for me, but it did tell me where the writer/directer's head is at. And I really don't like Rian Johnson. Other than that, enjoyable, and the next episode will be interesting for sure.

Some? If a core character in a story is unrecognizable, it's a big problem. I can't really go into why I dislike the movie so much without it being revealing. I think people like me who grew up with the original trilogy are more likely to dislike this movie; it deviates too far from the original premiss (actually, I think is shits all over the original trilogy), and it continues the failures of not developing the new characters making so much of it nonsensical.
