I always thought Sesame Street was kind of weird.
I remember friends talking about these shows but I only and rarely saw them as reruns. My parents didn't get us a TV until I was eleven. I never got into them.

I enjoy watching speed racer rerun cartoon as well when I was little kid.
During the 60s, Honda was getting into racing including F1, and cartoon was basically the advertisement for Honda.
White car with red circle (where Mach5 has 5 inside the red circle).
White Lucky strike car w/ ad which has red circle.

Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.
With all of these other programs being discussed here how did you guys find time for Captain Kangaroo?
Also, this thread reminded me that I’ve been meaning to see if I can drag up some old episodes of All in the Family to rewatch. Liberal heads would explode if we had a show like that today.
In the 50's there was one neighbor with a TV and 11 kids (Yep, Salt Lake City).
All the kids would gather to watch Superman and Howdy Doody.
We got our own TV about 1959 and Dad limited viewing to one hour each Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
That box will rot your brain - read a book.
When we traveled and stayed at motels, we paid a quarter each 1/2 hour in a mechanism to watch TV
The time always ran out in the middle of a show.
Yep!
You asked for the old-timers to chime in!
Just stay off my lawn and turn down that rock and roll music!!!
