^^^^ Truth!!
Thank you for providing a voice of reason to this! I agree 100%. Immigrating to another country should be based on what you can bring to the table to benefit that country. Look at other nation's (developed nations, not Somalia) and how they deal with allowing people in (not refugees). Canada has some pretty strict requirements for citizenship, along with Mexico (imagine that!).

Coming to the US to live in a segregated community where you never have to learn to speak English or integrate into society isn't the answer. The US has historically had higher standards for immigration and should return to those values.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.

Only a limited number of immigrants are accepted into the country every year. Each time another link in the "chain" comes here, that's a spot taken away from an otherwise worthy person working within the system to immigrate legally.

I agree. I deal with it from time to time. I don't speak spanish fluently... I've gone out of my way to learn more and more- just because I see the trend we're going in. But on the other hand, I don't want to make things any easier for them. They move here, they should learn the language. You'd be a pretty big A-Hole if you moved to Germany and refused to learn German.
