Default .45 ACP muzzle device options

I have a .45 ACP upper from Oly that works pretty well. It came with a bird cage flash hider that I don't particularly like. It's a purely cosmetic issue, so I'm not in a huge rush to get it fixed, just looking at my options. The muzzle has a standard 5/8x24 thread on it.

I'm looking for some input before I decide how to proceed.
Who makes .45 flash hiders? If there isn't anyone with some in stock, I was thinking about getting a .30 cal and opening it up or paying a machinist to make me one.
Have you ever tried a linear muzzle brake? It doesn't seem like there would be any real benefit to adding one to a .45 carbine.

    Thanks.

KAW Valley, joebobs sells them. There's a few places offering PCC comps with the increased popularity of them.
The comps seem to have positive reviews from those running them PCC competitions.

A quick web search will give you the info you seek

I think I have a kaw valley one laying around someplace. If I can find it you're welcome to have it. I have one from QC10 that I'm running and I like it just fine.

Izzy, that's a heck of a nice offer. When/if you find it I'll gladly take you up on it.

No problem, I've got so many random parts that I'll never use. Just pay it forward some day if you get the chance. I'll actually go look now because I'm curious to see if I can find it. Just recently moved we have tons of stuff still in boxes.

Well I found it, not sure what the thread pitch is on it though. Turns out I have a ton of breaks, didn't realize how many. Send me a PM and we can figure out how to get it to you. Might not happen until after the new year.

That's kind of you, thank you izzy. I sent over a PM. No rush of course, you're the one doing me the favor.

This will be interesting. I can't say that I've ever even seen one of these in person.

As long as the thread pattern match a muzzle device for a 458 SOCOM should work.
My T.P. wheeling and dealing feedback is here.
