With the actual use of Mustard, Sarin, and Chlorine in Syria and Iraq, the increased nuclear threat from North Korea, and the flu killing thousands every year, Weapons of Mass Destruction have taken a front and center stage in the world. This awareness course will introduce you to all the known and even unknown threats that exist. You will have the opportunity to:
- Don Personal Protective Equipment
- Fit Test into your Respiratory Protection (if you have some)
- Use Direct Reading Instrumentation with sources of radiation
This is an awareness level course that provides participants with the same knowledge as many first responders including:
- Chemical Weapons
- Biologic Weapons
- Radiologic Weapons
- Explosives
- Chemistry and Toxicology
- PPE
- Decontamination
- Resources Available
You will not be trained to enter a contaminated environment, but will be trained in recognition and how to stay alive should one of these events occur. While to focus will be WMD the same tools can be applied in accidental HazMat releases. We will go over fact and fiction and what will really keep you and your family safe.
As for my knowledge of this subject, I have 15 years experience with the .gov in WMD response. I have trained First Responders, Military, Hospitals, and more. I have written magazine articles and chapters in textbooks on Chemical Weapons. I still teach HazMat response (HAZWOPER) for industry on a monthly basis. You will not be disappointed with the knowledge you will walk away with.

Would love to see some more sign up for this class.
Chem, Bio, or Rad what is your biggest fear? Does your fear match with reality?
Here are the Radioactive sources you can practice with. I will have a Ludlum 14C Survey Meter for you to use.

We will be at the Centennial Gun Club Gun Festival this Saturday the 23rd. Come down and say hi. We will be inside the shop.
