Unfortunately, Jack's misadventure last night was more than he could take. He wasn't showing improvement today and looked to me like he may have had stroke or suffered a head injury from his fall. He could barely stand without falling and he tended to walk in circles. Wife and I discussed it and decided it was time for Jacks pain and suffering to end. He had a good run...likely 17+ years. Not bad for a deaf and blind little Terrier.

He went peacefully at the doc's office with Mrs BG rubbing his ears. He liked that. Doc said she thought he was showing signs of some sort of brain trauma as well. It was the right thing to do for Jack.

So, Jack passed exactly 7 years later on the same day as my beloved Stella. Some of you may have known her from the gun store. Dec 23rd...not my favorite day.

As usual I appreciate the outpouring of support from friends and fellow dog-lovers here.

Damn, that's sad to hear. I was pulling for Jack. It sounds like you did all you could given the situation & kudos to your better half for rescuing him in the manner that she did.

Sounds like he had a helluva run and deep down I think you liked him much more than you lead on. To that end, I'm sorry for your loss and hope you find peace in the fact that you have the little fella such a good life and shared so much love.

    Rest easy Jack.

I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm grateful that dogs have folks like you and your missus to give them care and compassion. Jack was a blessed boy.

I'm sorry for your loss, and doubly sorry that the day has brought up sad memories of another loss.
