First Westerville Ohio Police Officer Killed by gunfire

Police Officer Eric Joering and Police Officer Anthony Morelli were shot and killed when they responded to a 911 hangup call in the 300 block of Crosswind Drive.

Both officers were shot as they arrived at the scene of the call. Officer Joering died at the scene. Officer Morelli was transported to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

The subject was arrested at the scene.

I know a few people from Westerville, Ohio. Their little community is both stunned and devastated by the loss of these two officers.
