It seems like most people who “like to talk about” their “confirmed kills” are bullshitters. The people I know who served don’t like to talk about that stuff, at least not with anyone but those they served with.

Might look at something like socnet or light fighter. They tend to attract other nation's military.

However, as kpp stated, most people who legit have been overseas and were involved in heavy combat or at least enough of it to get kills don't go bragging about it. They might talk of their time overseas, funny stories, others' exploits, but rarely to never their own.

Yes, this x 1000. "Sniper" and "confirmed kills" are two of the biggest poser red flags. (along with "Navy SEAL" or "Green Beret".)

You could try dropping a line to Jonn Lilyea over at http://thisainthell.us They are pretty much in the business of busting military fraudsters. He can likely point you to a British group that will be able to find info on the guy.

The Brits, Canadians and Aussies refer to military fakers as "Walts" (as in "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.")

Depending on the industry, job, business, etc., this sort of behavior can have a massive impact on a company and ability to maintain their brand, etc.

If he's lying about service, what else is he lying about? What else is he capable of lying about? How far will he go in order to embezzle, defraud, etc.? What else is he hiding or lying about that makes him a blackmail target, and thus a risk?

Kind of what I was thinking. Are you losing sleep over it OP? Is it having a negative affect on your sex life?

I always enjoy good storytellers. All the REAL operators I know don't talk much about missions, it's like pulling teeth getting ANY info out of them. But now and again I run across someone who tells stories well. I enjoy fiction novels as well as non-fiction. My advice is to decide which classification he is in and enjoy the stories accordingly.
