Default Is there a local gun shop that will take my used gun accessories?

I've collected all kinds of gun stuff over the years, most of it free, that I just can't use. Is there a local shop that would consider taking in used stuff? I figure it could be like the Goodwill where if stuff has value, they can put it up for sale, or have a free parts bin for people to browse through when they are in the store, or whatever.

Yes I'm aware of the Pay It Forward thread, but between most people also not having a use for this stuff, or being totally, super, interested, if only I didn't live more than 3 minutes from where they live, most of this stuff is just going to sit. I'm talking about holsters for guns I don't have, take off factory hand guards, pistol grips, shotgun or rifle stocks, etc. I considered just putting the stuff in the next pile I take to Goodwill, but I'm not sure if they'd sell it or just throw it away. If they're just going to throw it away, I might as well do it and save myself the trip.

I thought that a local brick and mortar store with a used parts bin would be unique enough that they might put up with the hassle just to get the traffic. Thought it was worth mentioning on here in case any of you guys who work at or own shops might be interested.

In the Springs I know of a few places that will take stuff to sell, depending on what it is. So they probably exist up near you too. If it’s going to sit around taking up space for a year they probably aren’t interested, but it’s worth asking. You might start with a place that does consignments, they know about dealing with used stuff, and ask them if they want it.

Good luck, I know how this stuff collects. I took some miscellaneous loading stuff that I wanted out of my loading room down to a gun show recently and left it with a guy that had similar stuff on his table.

I bought a pistol mag at Goodwill once. I dunno if it's up to the manager or what.

The more I think about it, that's exactly what I was thinking. This is stuff that might sell at a gun show, to the right buyer, but after how much time?

This made me think about the box that used to get passed around on the board. I don't recall what happened to it but it was full of the stuff you are talking about.

I do remember that. I think I brought a bunch of non-popular brass to a meet once and no one touched it. That's probably when I got the first inkling that I was collecting stuff that not only do I not want, but no one else does either.

I'm in Lakewood this weekend. I'd take a look and bring money.

I'll tell you guys what. I'll start another free thread, give it a week, then anything that doesn't move I'll just throw it away.
