"Active Shooter" - Colorado Springs

POSTED AS AN ADVISORY TO THOSE IN COS ONLY - DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A CONVERSATION ON POLICE TACTICS, ETC.

Around 4:30 pm today CSPD exchanged gunfire with a suspect in the area of Vickers & Union Blvds.

The suspect was able to flee the scene (sounds like it was on foot) and is still on the loose.

People are advised to avoid the area and if you live in the area to stay inside with doors/windows closed and locked & shelter in place.

Suspect information is vague but is described as a white male, approximately 30 years old last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and light blue jeans.

Granted, they gave it a red BREAKING NEWS banner at the top of the page, but Sweet Baby Jesus, how about we pull our nose out of corporate's arse a bit, and actually report local NEWS!!

Hopefully this will be resolved with minimal negative consequence. Be safe.

UPDATE: FFS...... Now KKTV has .gov shutdown as lead story.

Got stuck in all the mess on the way home. This is not too far from my house. The lack of information is a little frustrating. I am sure it's under control judging by the number of bored looking cops standing around the scene, but it would be nice to know more.
