    Default Flamethrowers

Has anyone witnessed the use of or had a chance to operate a civilian flamethrower like... http://xm42.com/ Thier site lists Damage Factory as a dealer. What say you Damage Factory reps?

Looks like there are quite a few civilian options for flamethrowers these days. https://www.boringcompany.com/flamethrower https://throwflame.com/products/flamethrower/ A good option for 4th of July festivities? "Standy back kids. Honey, hold my beer." Click image for larger version.

The xm42-m is bad ass. Saw it at shot show. Not a live demo, but vids and got to hold and play with an ungassed one. Nicely built. Ark Tactical will be bringing them in as well as damage factory. The one from Boring is lame in comparison. It’s simply a torch. You can get a better flame and “thrower” like performance from a propane garden or ice melt torch from harbor freight. For 30 bucks.

If I use spiders as my intended use, I'm sure my wife would be on board.

Refillable pressure can (mechanic quality), half to 3/4 filled with Heet and Ether starting fluid mix, pressurized to 125 psi from your air compressor. Pull the trigger, strike a lighter and watch magic happen.

Anywhere I can think of that I'd have room to use one, I'd be afraid of starting a huge fire.

Elon Musk made the comment about the ATF after a would-be purchaser wrote on Twitter that the flamethrowers might be illegal. “ATF says any flamethrower with a flame shorter than 10 ft is A-ok”

"I'm not sure why he said that,” said the spokeswoman, Alexandria A. Corneiro. “The domestic production and possession [of flamethrowers] are not regulated by the Gun Control Act or the National Firearms Act, so we have no regulatory function in that matter.”

Corneiro wasn’t sure who regulates flamethrowers.

That Boring unit looks, well, just boring, a big propane torch with a short throw on the flame.
Now the XM 42-m is on my wish list, up to 30 ft. of reach, THAT is a flame thrower.

There is another brand that is a backpack unit that is also a “reach out and touch someone” flame thrower. I cannot recall the name though.
