    Default 3-4-18 Colorado Rifle Club 2-Gun Match Byers, CO

    2-Gun Rifle-Pistol Match and Free Clinic

    Optional clinic is open to all, participation in match is not required. This match is especially suited to new shooters using rack grade rifles and ball (mil surplus) ammunition. This is a modified version of a combat excellence in arms match. Semi-automatic rifles and pistols using are preferred. Optical sights, NRA match rifles, or any safe rifle are allowed. It is not necessary to participate in the pistol phase if one chooses not to. With prior request, every effort will be made to provide arms and ammunition to those in need.

    WHEN: Sunday March 4, 2018
    FEE: Match fee $5 members, $10 non-members

    AMMUNITION: Rifle, at least 65 rds (60 for match). Pistol, 15 rds. Ammunition must safely match user’s firearms. No tracer or incendiary.

    EQUIPMENT: Minimal. Mats or ground cloths are allowed (poncho/shelter half). No heavy competition coats, shooting carts, shooting stools, or spotting scopes allowed. MTU jackets or 782 gear is permitted, but not required. Hearing and eye protection IS required. Recommended: Binoculars, small pack for food, drink, ammunition, etc. At least 2-3 magazines or stripper clips. Pen/pencil and notebook.

    START: Free clinic at 1000 yd line pavilion 0800-0900, will cover safety, scoring, pit procedures, range procedures, marksmanship fundamentals, and shooting positions. All are welcome.

    MATCH LIVE FIRE approx 0930-1230.

    PARKING: During match vehicles may be parked near pits (behind berm is recommended) or behind the 500/600 yd line.

    COURSE OF FIRE
    2-Gun Rifle-Pistol Match

    Rifle Phase

    Relay 1 fires at 600, 500, 300, and 200 yds. Pit change and repeat for Relay 2.
    Pistol Phase
    Relay 1 fires pistol at 25 yds, repeat for relay 2. Pistols may be holstered but must be “shown safe”, chamber empty.
    Firearm Safety
    While in pits, absolutely no handling of firearms! This includes adjusting slings, sights, or “show and tell”.
    On firing lines, all commands to load or commence fire will come from line officer.

    Unless engaged in live fire as directed, all firearms will be unloaded with an “empty chamber indicator” in place OR in “weapon condition four”, until line officer says otherwise.


    600 YDS: 5-minutes, unlimited sighting shots
    Slow fire, 10 record shots in 10 minutes, pull and mark each shot.
    500 YDS: 1-minute optional sighting shot
    Prone rapid fire, start in position. 10 shots in 70 seconds with a mag change

    300 YDS: 1-minute optional sighting shot

    Prone rapid fire from standing, 10 shots in 70 seconds with a mag change
    Sitting sustained fire. 10 shots in 5 minutes. Targets scored at end of 5
    min., not each shot.
    200 YDS: 1-minute optional sighting shot

    Standing from high alert/ready. 2 shots in a 12 second exposure.
    Standing from high alert/ready. 3 shots in a 12 second exposure.
    Standing with kneeling: 2 shots from standing, immediately followed by
    3 shots kneeling-all in a single 30 second exposure. Targets will
    now be scored.

    Rapid fire: Standing to sitting or kneeling, 10 shots in 60 seconds with a
    mag change.

    25 YDS (PISTOL): Pistols will be unholstered or removed from case/pack. Load

    command will then be given, followed by a commence fire signal.

    Standing. 5 shots in 30 seconds.
    Standing/Kneeling: Total of 10 shots in 60 seconds with mag change.
    Fire 5 shots standing. With slide locked open, assume kneeling
    position, reload and fire 5 shots from kneeling position on

    demand.


    TARGETS: M9 silhouette, or equivalent 20 in x 40 in silhouette
    SCORING: M9 target:
    Hits at 600 yds = All hits 5 points each
    Hits at 500 yds = All hits 5 points each
    Hits at 300 yds = Use Target Scoring Rings
    Hits at 200 yds = Use Target Scoring Rings

    That's Great. I hope you both can make it out. We try to run a fun, quick match that gets all types out shooting.

    March 4th is going to be crap shoot on weather but we have had it really good so far.. Fingers crossed.. :-)

    Whooo Weeee that was some sporty wind today.. Lots of semi-autos getting turned into bolt guns with dust and dirt, but hey you gotta keep that gun up.. :-) Great time and good people.
