Default Staples refuses firearms business check.

I just had Staples refuse my business check because it's a firearms related business. They then accepted my business credit card. Same business.
Last penny they'll ever get from me.

I thought "operation choke-point" was history?

Just don't try to refuse to bake a cake though! The horror!

They read your business name and said "no"?

uline.com is pretty comprehensive with business supplies. There are other companies like Office Depot. I never did like Staples much.

Perhaps it was just the individual "holier than thou" cashier? Or is it stated store policy?

Maybe they can add 'checks' to this sign?

Was also wondering this as well, was management notified? Is this a corporate, management, or employee decision?

I think Staples might be connected to Office Dept. As mentioned, U-Line, and also Quill will take your money, with the added benefit of a Net30 credit account to build your business' credit score. U-Line and Quill are some of the very few places that report to the business credit score bureaus.

The cashier tried to put it through a couple of times, then he call corporate to see what the issue was. He got kind of embarassed, hung up the phone, looked at me and said, "uh, I'm just a simple peon here...it seems to be that yours is a firearms related business". He was really apologetic about it.

Office Depot has never been a problem. They're associated with another popular office supply, but it's not Staples.

If mrpibb doesn't want my business, I will drink drpepper.

If staples doesnt like gun business, I will go to office depot/max.

Didn't Bain cap use to own shares of Staples?

Wow. Is that actually a payment policy of theirs? That's why the check processing was flagged? I'd be letting the firearm world know right now - dont' shop at Staples, they don't want your money.
