A real way to hedge against a ban would be to get out of this echo chamber and, politely, join another echo chamber to bring a different opinion. And I don't just mean showing up, starting a gun thread, and demand to debate with facts. Join a forum that interests you, act like a normal adult human, not some internet troll, and have regular conversations to establish yourself as an asset to a community for reasons beyond being a gun expert.

Example: if I help my neighbor mow her lawn, shovel her walk, and fix the leak under her sink, she's going to have a much greater respect for my opinions, but more importantly will see me as an equal community member that brings value to everyone around me and not someone she wants to ostracize just because we hold different beliefs. If I'm just a shut-in that lives across the street, never interacts with anyone, and just rants about guns in my yard, well then screw that guy, who cares if we piss him off to get what we think we want, he's already pissy and glares at us, so what will change?
