One thing that astonishes me is how many of the wife's friends seem to have husbands/boyfriends that are unemployed leeches. Just sit on the couch and do very little if anything while the wife/girlfriend goes to work every day (at least, this is what I'm hearing from my wife.)

I just had no idea there were so many unemployed/underemployed 40- or 50-something year old guys sitting around the house while their spouse or girlfriend worked. It's weird. I think I'd be embarrassed if my wife had to work to support us while I didn't.
Right now is my down time, and my wife lets me know every single day how much she doesn't appreciate going to work every day while I don't. Hopefully, theirs do as well.
