An AWB stuck in a bill rife with emotion is a head scratcher unless he wants to make sure it passes... otherwise, it's only going to result in a headline like, "Republicans Vote To Keep Kids Unsafe!"

It's like putting a pill in a chunk of liver to give to a dog. You know the pill won't go down the hatch without the liver.

He's either a complete master of strategy in a way that has not been seen in American politics in decades, or we're screwed.
