    Maybe it happened, but I don't remember a single retailer destroying compact florescent light bulbs once people decided they were bad for the environment, which effects everyone (and bad for lighting). Think stores in New York publicly destroyed large drink cups?

    If guns are so bad, it's not a secret and people are just finding out (like black market THC vaping that has killed a few people, but they are still blaming Juul). They've always been bad and the decades of selling them should weigh much more heavily than the comparative handful that were destroyed. Politics; nearly always dumb and unhelpful.
