I've come to realize that ain't nobody getting out of this life alive so I enjoy the good things in life while I'm here.

    Fake bacon = facon
    Fake nuggets = fuggets
    Fake ribs = fibs

The facon was the most horrid... burned easily, and smelled like some set fire to a pencil eraser when it was burned.

Trying to make something into something it's not is just a lie... turkey is fine when it's prepared like turkey... if you want bacon, then eat bacon... if you don't want the fat, tough... don't eat bacon, and don't lie to yourself by pretending some else is bacon.
What rubs me the wrong way about all of that fake crap is that vegans/vegetarians want their cake and to eat it too. They feel good about themselves for denying themselves real meat, but they still want the flavor of meat. Since those flavors can't come from real meat/animal products, chemicals are used to poorly reproduce them. I remember several years back hearing ads about vegan "Turkey Flavored Tofu" as a substitute for turkey on Thanksgiving. Either you (generic "you") want and will eat real meat or you just need to quit pretending and move along.

Dealing with that now. The good part: more bacon for me on Sunday!

Believe it or not, I actually lost weight eating bacon (not just bacon), it's called keto, eat as much bacon as you want, but it's a trade off because you have to ditch the sweets and carbs.

I wonder if this could be marketed as "Texas bacon"? (since Texas is known for raising beef, and Brisket is the BBQ meat of choice)

some BBQ joints I've been to have "firecrackers" or Ten50 calls the "torpedoes".. http://ten50bbq.com/

a jalapeno stuffed with smoked chicken or brisket and cheese and then wrapped in bacon and smoked... now that's a good bacon deployment plan!
